Wasserampel springt wieder auf Grün

Water traffic light turns green again

Water light turns green again 🚦

Great news! The water light in Bad Homburg is green again! 🚦 Do you know what that means? It's not just because of the rainfall, but mainly because the people here are real water-saving pros. 🫶 Since the light turned yellow about two weeks ago, an average of 25 percent less drinking water has been used than before. That's truly an impressive achievement! 📉

The municipal utility company is there every day, checking how much water is being drawn. This is important to ensure everything stays within the green zone. 😉

Mayor Dr. Oliver Jedynak is full of praise for the citizens: "You are truly using our important water resource responsibly. 👏 This also shows that our water-saving traffic light is having a real impact." But he also emphasizes that we must continue to be cautious: "Summer is not over yet, and we must absolutely avoid a drinking water shortage." 💧

In July, they installed two analog water traffic lights here in Bad Homburg – one in front of the Seedammbad swimming pool and one at the train station. ➡️ Cool, right? You can also find digital traffic lights on the websites of the city of Bad Homburg (just search for "Wasserampel") and the municipal utilities. And for smartphone users, the traffic lights are also available in the Bad Homburg app. There you'll also find information about what the different traffic light colors mean.

It's truly exemplary how you're all working together to conserve precious drinking water. It's great to see how a small change in behavior can have a big impact. You're amazing! 🔨 Keep it up, and let's make sure the water light stays green for a long time to come. Cheers! 🥤
