Nachhaltige Grünanlagen für Kronberg im Taunus

Sustainable green spaces for Kronberg im Taunus

Climate change is also impacting parks and gardens in our cities. Higher temperatures and longer dry periods are increasingly damaging Kronberg's green spaces. Adaptation is necessary to preserve this precious ecosystem.

The city of Kronberg and the "Aktives Kronberg" association have therefore organized information events on the topic of "Sustainable Perspectives for Parks and Gardens." The goal is to present possible solutions to the challenges of climate change and facilitate dialogue with citizens.

The event will kick off on September 19 at the Kronberger Lichtspiele cinema. Johannes Wolf from the planning firm "viaverde" and environmental consultant Yvonne Richter will present the consequences of global warming for green spaces, especially trees. Concrete examples will demonstrate how municipalities and private individuals can adapt—for example, by choosing heat-resistant tree species.

As a popular recreational area, Victoria Park in Kronberg is particularly affected. Its mature trees are suffering from climate stress. Forward-looking action is needed to preserve the city's green lungs for the long term.

An informative walk through the park will follow on October 14. Participants will hear from experts how the historic garden can be made fit for the future. The events are free and registration is not required.

They offer citizens the opportunity to learn about strategies for sustainable parks and green spaces in times of climate change. Only through collective commitment can the "green Kronberg" be preserved.
